Manzanita Aquarium Wood

We can supply manzanita aquarium wood harvested from our responsibly managed sustainable forest land in Oregon where it grows abundantly.

Manzanita wood is relatively chemically inert and is nontoxic. Unlike many other woods it is non resistant to leaching tannins into the water. While some woods like grapevine tend to decay in aquariums, manzanita wood is very hard, durable and resists decay so it can last for many years.

Manzanita grown onto all kinds of unique and twisted shapes which makes it both attractive and an ideal place for fish, reptiles and other aquarium creatures to hide and play. It’s colors can range from creamy white to a dark rich reddish brown. These colors and ranges of colors can and usually do occur all in the same piece.

Manzanita wood does float but after it’s been soaking in water for a while it will sink. Shapes and sizes vary greatly and can range from small twigs up to about a foot in diameter. Shapes can be simple logs to complex twigs and stumps with root wads.

We don’t have retail manzanita aquarium wood available at this time but can supply raw material to retailers. In the future we may start supplying retail aquarium products if the interest and demand is there. Please post your comments on this page about what kind of manzanita products you might be interested in.
