I have an American that is still working after 43 years. Same &engine (5 hp Briggs & Stratton) and same hydraulics.
I have had my SCH24 5HP HONDA splitter for 21 years w/4 ways wedge (new 1999) and I haven’t found any thing it will NOT split no matter what type of wood I split….
We (5 of us) split about 300 cords a year.
Minor maintenance . (oil and filter change)
