Abies concolor
White fir is a softwood that burns fast and has a low BTU rating. It ignites easy so it makes excellent kindling and is good for starting fires. It burns well and can produce quick heat but doesn’t last long so it’s usually not considered the best wood for wood stoves and home heating.
White Fir is a conifer that grows in the mountains of the Pacific coast and in the high mountains of central Oregon south into Mexico and as far east as the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

Puts off an unpleasant odor. Makes good kindling and decent shoulder season firewood.
That’s why it’s called piss fur
Actually I learned that White Fir can store water in the middle so when you cut it it pisses on you. Hence piss fir.
